January 14th, 2016. The @Digimon_games Twitter announced today that a prelaunch stream for Digimon World -next 0rder- will take place on the 21st through NicoNico Live. The doors of the "Digimon World Great Reunion" will open at 7:50 AM Japanese Standard Time on the 21st, with the stream commencing at 8:00 PM. Aoi Eir, producer of the game's title theme Accentier, will be appearing as a guest speaker representative of Digimon World's user base, having been a fan of the series since the original PlayStation game.

The original production staff of Digimon World will also appear, presenting the "inside story" (裏話) of the game's production. New information about -next 0rder- will be presented at the stream. The Master of Ceremonies will be Matsuzawa Chiaki, host of the 2015 DigiFes event and the voice of Digimon Adventure tri.'s TV announcer. Other guests are the original Digimon World producer, Shindou Takayuki, its planner Minowa Atsushi, and -next 0rder- producer Fujiwara Yasunori.

Digimon World -next 0rder- will launch in Japan March 17th, 2016, on the PlayStation Vita for 6,980 yen (7,539 JPY after tax). 11/20 Adventure tri. Livestream Draws 50,000+ Viewers

Left to right: Mimori "Mimorin" Suzuko (Takenouchi Sora), Enoki Junya (Takaishi Takeru), and Ikeda Junya (Kido Jo).
November 20th, 2015. As a prelude to the Japanese premier of Digimon Adventure tri., Bandai & Toei organized a special livestream hosted by the voices of three of the movie's principle characters, Mimori Suzuko, Enoki Junya, and Ikeda Junya. (Jokingly introduced as "double Junya.") The broadcast, which clocked at about an hour and a half, featured its hosts showing off a number of new products created for tri., announcing new information on Digimon, and participating in activities together. Fans were receptive to the stream, breaking into memetic cries of "JOOOOOOOOO" at any mention of Kido Jo, flooding the screen with his name. A recording of the stream can be viewed below.

The broadcast opened with a survey of the viewers asking how they planned on seeing Digimon Adventure tri. 49.2% of respondents said they would see it at a theater, 13.2% said they would see it through iTunes or PlayStation Video services, 16.2% said they would see it on Blu-ray or DVD, 10.6% said they would see it in a theater and then buy the packaged version, and 10.6% were undecided in where they would see tri.

Mimori Suzuko was as enthusiastic as ever, caught taking selfies of herself with her character's stand, and beginning her tri. gashapon collection on camera with a test run of the newly-released machines--which initially seemed to eat her money, until she realized it was a 300 yen machine and not a 100 yen one.

"Who will it be? Who will it be? Who will be born? Ah, Yamato is born."
Mimori also showed off backstage notebook with well-wishes from several Digimon staff, including Yoshida Hitomi (current voice of Tachikawa Mimi), and Tamura Mutsumi (Izumi Koushirou).

"Wait, this isn't a spoon, this is chocolate!"
The three of them were served each of their characters' corresponding dishes from the currently-running Digimon Adventure tri. Animate Café; Mimori was served a Magical Fire drink with Sora's "Love-filled Tomato Stew," Enoki was served an Air Shot drink with Takeru's "Angel Parfait," and Ikeda was served a Marching Fishes with Jo's "Praying to Pass! Exam Chazuke." Enoki initially mistook the white chocolate wings in the parfait for a spoon, prompting admonishing cries of "Takeru!"

A group speed drawing session with the seiyuu drawing their characters' Digimon partners quickly went awry when it became apparent that both Mimori and Enoki's  skills were lacking; Ikeda accused Mimori of drawing Big Bird instead of Piyomon.

The TGS trailer for Digimon World -next 0rder- was also reviewed during the broadcast, after which a special announcement was made that tamers will be able to get a special Adventure tri. related download in the future, downloading the movie-original Maicoomon into their games.

The first twelve minutes of Reunion were then shown to promote the film, and as the broadcast drew to a close the tone became somewhat more somber. Mimori implored fans to see the film, stating that she had the feeling something amazing had begun. Enoki closed it out with a view of the film's poster, autographed by a combination of the original and new voice cast for the chosen children.

The special livestream drew over 50,000 simultaneous viewers at its peak and just under 80,000 comments, posted live through NicoNico Douga's unique inter-video comment system. Afterward a staggering 88.3% of viewers rated the stream as "Very good" in NND's standard post-stream poll, 8.4% "A little good," 31.8% "Ordinary," 0.4% "Not very good," and 1.1% "Not good." The majority of livestreams never break 80% for "Very good" ratings. A subsequent poll rating Wada Kouji's newest recording of Butter-fly, shown after the stream, was ranked 94.2% "Very good," 3.7% "A little good," 0.9% "Ordinary," 0.3% "Not very good," and 0.9% "Not good." The Butter-fly recording is not included in the video for copyright purposes.

Concerns Rise Over "Engrish" in Cyber Sleuth

October 8th, 2015. Several hours ago Bandai Namco EU streamed an early English-language build of Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth to Twitch, giving a first look at its translated script and confirming the previously announced cross-buy option between the PlayStation 4 and Vita editions of the game. The English script is drawing some concern however, as the Cyber Sleuth shown during the stream wavered between professionally-edited dialogue and translation that was spotty at best. In several of the game's cutscenes character's lines were improperly represented, with core cast member Shiramine Nokia's subtitles memorably reading "I'm late" rather than what her spoken Japanese indicated--"You're late." Bandai EU stated in a response to one comment that the game would not be "early" 2016 for Europe as has been said for North America, but confirmed a physical release of the game on PlayStation 4 in select European countries in addition to the established digital download option.

Several errors in the script caught the attention of viewers. In particular, one of the main dungeons of the game Kuuron クーロン--translated in our Let's Play as "Cron" from the software utility--had no consistent name in the stream's script, which alternated between referring to Kuuron as "Coulomb" (from the unit of electrical charge) and "Kowloon." (Also used as the name for a location in Digimon Story Sunburst & Moonlight.) The area of Kuuron visited was also inconsistently referred to as either Junk Park (Garakuta Kouen) or Galacta Park, drawing from the same phonetics. (In-game Kuuron is spelled out in English as "Cool-wrong," to the derision of Cyber Sleuth's fanbase.) However, Bandai EU assured viewers that this was only an early version of the game. The stream's script most likely does not represent the finalized incarnation of Cyber Sleuth's English edition.

10/9/15 update: In response to questions regarding the script, Bandai EU has stated that the CS build streamed was not final, and is not representative of the game's commercial release.

More than six hundred people tuned into the stream, at its peak bringing in 681 live viewers. Chat comments were focused on the game's lack of an English dub, which has proved particularly controversial with the American gamers tuning in. Some would call it entitlement rather than genuine criticism, a belief that Cyber Sleuth is somehow not good enough for gamers unless it has a dub. However, the decision to retain the original Japanese voiceover has found praise elsewhere, as Cyber Sleuth has several extremely talented actors on board, with special regard to Han Megumi's rapidfire mouth-running performance as Nokia. Finding an appropriate match for this show stealer in the English dub industry would be both incredibly difficult and expensive, as would matching voices to several other characters like Duftmon (Wakamoto Norio), and tracking down a diverse cast to voice the game's numerous Digimon. A recording of Bandai EU's stream can be viewed here.

Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth will launch in English in early 2016 in North America, and 2016 in Europe.

October 2nd, 2015. Bandai Namco UK announced over Twitter today that they will be streaming the English localization of Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth at 7PM Central European time (2PM EST) on October 8th. The stream will be conducted on Twitch, the popular video game streaming service previously used to stream Digimon All-Star Rumble.

Cyber Sleuth is slated for an "early" 2016 launch in North America according to Bandai Namco US. International editions of the game will launch simultaneously on the PlayStation Vita, PSTV, and PlayStation 4, with cross-buy and more difficulty options.
