D-3 Ver. 15th Digivice Paildramon Special Edition Announced

February 9th, 2016. The Premium Bandai web shop updated tonight with a surprise product in stock; the D-3 Ver. 15th Digivice Paildramon Color. As with the original D-3 Ver. 15th--which will be sent out this June--the Paildramon Color Ver. 15th will be produced in only limited quantities, fixed at 3,000 units. Preorders will open on March 11th at 11:00 AM Japanese Standard Time, and the final product will be shipped out to buyers in July 2016. The price is identical to preceding D-3 Ver.15ths, 9,990 JPY. (About $90 at present exchange rates.)

The previous twin black and blue models of D-3 sold out just six days after preorders opened. As P-Bandai only sells directly to Japanese buyers, international fans will have to go through a middleman service to purchase the Digivice.

The D-3 Ver. 15th has connectivity with 2014-15's Digivice Ver. 15th, unlocking a special message by connecting with the toy, and can further battle with the original D-3, Digivice, Digimon Pendulum, and Digital Monster series.

Digimon Celebration T-Shirts Available on Redbubble

January 18th, 2016. Digimon World Tour announced today that Digimon Celebration T-shirts are now available until February 3rd over Redbubble. The shirts will not be available at the Celebration itself, and will not be sold again in the future. Fans can use the promo code GEEKOUT to get 15% off on the shirts today. The full tournament lineup and rules for the Celebration were just announced this weekend, with the World Tour organization confirming that Rumble Arena, Rumble Arena 2, and All-Star Rumble will all have sanctioned tournament play with prize payout. Fans are also encouraged to bring their Digivices and Digimon virtual pets, though any competitions for those will have to be organized on-site. Other Digimon games will be available for free play at the event, including Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth, and there will also be a cosplay and fanart contest.

Digimon Celebration will take place at the Victory Pointe gaming lounge in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on February 6th, 2016. Tamer Union will be traveling to provide on-site coverage of the event. The event is being organized through Facebook, and currently 62 persons have committed to going. 145 others are "interested," and 345 invited. In addition to the gaming and cosplay events that day, the Celebration will feature artist duo Ramen Bento as a vendor, selling Digimon plush toys, stickers, and magnets.

Agumon Virus Fluffy Pouch Goes On Sale 1/13/16

January 11th, 2016. Bandai Fashion Net added the Digimon Adventure Agumon Fluffy Pouch (Virus Version) to the Premium Bandai web shop today, listing it at a price of 2160 JPY ($19 approximately at the current exchange rate). The limited edition plush toy, which was previously sold at Comiket 89 in December, will be available for purchase through Premium Bandai beginning January 13th, 2016, 11:00 AM Japanese Standard Time. 200 of these plushes were sold at Comiket, and a remaining 100 more will be sold online. Those not residing in Japan will have to go through a middleman service to obtain the plush toy, just as they would have for the Monzaemon Fluffy Pouch and D-3 Ver. 15th Digivice.

Digimon Plush Toys and Merch at the Digimon Celebration in Pittsburgh, Rumble Tournaments

January 7th, 2016. Fan event organizer Digimon World Tour reports that their first vendor of the Digimon Celebration event in Pittsburgh has signed on. Artist duo Ramen Bento will be joining the Celebration, selling Digimon magnets, stickers, art prints, and plush toys.

World Tour has further expanded on their previous announcement of Rumble tournaments at the Celebration; the organization is currently gauging interest in each game, to help determine which Rumble Arena games should have tournaments organized for that day. Currently All-Star Rumble is on the table, as the most recent and most accessible of the Digimon fighters. While tamers have been asked to bring their Digivices and virtual pets, any competitions for those toys will have to be organized the day of. No tournaments for the virtual pets can be guaranteed by World Tour due to their relative rarity.

Digimon Adventure tri. Tote Bags Available at Comiket 89

December 14th, 2015. Bandai Fashion Net posted several upcoming products that will be available at Comiket 89 from December 29th to 31st. Alongside the previously-announced Virus Agumon plush toy, four types of tote bags and microfiber mini towelettes featuring the cast of Digimon Adventure tri. will be available as a set for 3000 yen (under $25 at the current exchange rate). The designs feature Ishida Yamato, Yagami Taichi, Tachikawa Mimi, and Takenouchi Sora, each with their respective partner Digimon. Labeled "Digimon Adventure tri. ZZZ With My Friend Tote Bags," the collection is part of Bandai's overall goal of targeting older female consumers with new Digimon merchandise.

Like with the Virus Agumon plush, the collection is very limited. 200 sets of tote bags and mini towelettes will be sold at Comiket 89, with 100 more being sold through the Premium Bandai web shop.

Comiket (an abbreviation of "Comic Market") is an annual doujinshi fair, where unofficial manga drawn by fanartists are sold alongside official products. Doujin events of this type are tolerated by large companies like Bandai and Toei because of a combination of factors; the fans typically operate at a loss when going to the event, with more than 50% of fanartists losing money by selling their work, and the events have an important role in cultivating fanbases that will be receptive to buying official merchandise. The success of doujin markets as an advertising tactic has even lead to corporate organization of these markets and other conventions, as seen in the Digimon-only event Digital ∞ Infinity organized by Studio YOU.

Agumon & Gabumon Earbuds on Preorder

December 10th, 2015. Japanese web store Neowing has put up preorder listings for sets of Digimon Adventure-themed Agumon and Gabumon earbuds, which will go on sale in March 2016 to match their corresponding iPhone cases. These earbud models have built-in reels to prevent tangling of the cords, and are currently ordering for 2030 yen, or just under $17 at the present exchange rate.

The earbuds are currently the last known products in the DGA series; the phone cases are numbered DGA-01 and the earbuds DGA-05. 02 through 04 are filled by a public transit card holder, a book-style smartphone holder, and a mini pouch.
