New Key Art for Digimon Linkz's Kurihara Hina Shown in AppliSoft

A spread from the December 28th issue of AppliSoft magazine uncovered by Japanese Digimon fan @morimoriurf over January 9th revealed new key art of Digimon Linkz navigator Kurihara Hina hatching a Botamon. The upcoming smartphone game will be focus on raising Digimon to have 3-on-3 battles, and will be available both in the App Store and on Google Play.

The issue confirms that Botamon, Koromon, Agumon, Gabumon, Gomamon, Tailmon, Gaomon, V-mon, Guilmon, Kuwagamon, Scumon, Diablomon, Monzaemon, and Hackmon will all be available in the game, but no concrete launch date has been set as of yet.

Linkz was originally announced for a 2015 launch, but was delayed due to production issues. More than fifty thousand people have preregistered for the game, and as part of its promotional campaign Bandai has set up a special LINE messaging account for it that sends information about the game to users' phones.

January 6th, 2016. The 1/21 issue of Weekly Famitsu magazine was leaked today by All Games Beta; the magazine contains a massive blitz of coverage written to promote the upcoming Digimon World -next 0rder-, out March 17th. While most of the information given consists of recaps of the official character profiles and preorder bonus info, the magazine also includes a new promotional illustration by character designer Taiki, showing the core cast and the game's camping feature.

The quote featured in the illustration is "Was the World waiting for you? Or were you waiting for the World?", a line that has just recently come into prominent use in the game's TV commercial and Jump Festa trailer. Female protagonist Shiki is shown cleaning poop--a notorious feature of the World series--while male protagonist Takuto and their friend Kouta cook meat over a campfire.

According to Famitsu, in the Digimon World series' latest work, players will assume the role of a Tamer raising their two partner Digimon while adventuring through the Digital World. By training their partners' HP, MP, Offense, Defense, Brains, and Speed, they can influence what form their partner will eventually evolve into. Those that preorder the game will get access to five special DLC Digimon, a remastered copy of the 1999 Digimon World soundtrack, and two original Vita themes, "ver. Nostalgic" and "ver. Dot." Theme ver. Dot features a montage of original Digimon LCD sprites, while theme ver. Nostalgic turns the screen into the layout of a Digital Monster virtual pet. The game will retail for 6,980 yen (7,539 JPY after tax).

Digimon World -next 0rder- Launches March 17th, Susanoomon to Join the Roster

December 15th, 2015. According to Japanese fans that have acquired early copies of this month's issue of V Jump magazine, this newest issue includes the final release date and preorder content for Digimon World -next 0rder-, which will launch in Japan on March 17th, 2016. The game will retail for 7344 yen (approx. $60 at the current exchange rate), and will come packaged with these preorder items;

• A reprinted soundtrack for the first Digimon World game.
• Two original themes for the PlayStation Vita.
• A "start dash" set that will aid in raising Digimon.
• Special Agumon & Gabumon Digitama.
• Download codes to unlock five mystery Ultimate evolutions.

The issue also confirms that Susanoomon from Digimon Frontier will be available in the game, and that a new character named Tsutsuki Shouma (津々木ショーマ) will appear. Previously, Frontier's Spirit Digimon had been confirmed for -next 0rder- by a new batch of screenshots showing Agnimon as a potential Digimon partner.

Last month's issue showed a new antagonist greatly resembling the original main character of Digimon World, popularly known in the west by his fan name "Hiro," and in Japan as "Analog Boy" (アナログ少年 Anarogu Shounen).

Digimon World's Cheer System Shown in 10/16 Famitsu Scans

October 16th, 2015. Chinese gaming news outlet TGBUS has uploaded scans from an unnamed Japanese gaming magazine, unveiling new information about the upcoming Digimon World -next 0rder- on the PlayStation Vita. The magazine is currently presumed to be the most recent issue of Weekly Famitsu based on the timing and similarities in page formatting. Assorted translations are provided below.

This week's issue focuses on the dual Digimon battle system, and confirms existing suspicions that the "certain village" mentioned in Jijimon's profile is the Village of Beginnings. It also contains a profile for Oofuchi Himari, which identical to that found in her official profile. The battle screenshots show Agumon and Gabumon teaming up, and provide a bit of explanation as to how the game's cheer system works; when the player cheers for their Digimon at the moment of an attack, it briefly powers up the Digimon.

No exact release date has been decided on as of yet; the magazine still lists Digimon World -next 0rder- for 2016.

The protagonist wanders from the real world to the "digital world" where Digimon reside. Alongside their 2 partner Digimon, they embark on an adventure. While confronting formidable enemies, and solving this mystery, they search for a way to return to the real world.

Wandering the digital world, the protagonist sees the "Village of Beginnings" repeatedly lain waste to by Mugendramon before their very eyes. They then decide to assist in the reconstruction.

By befriending 2 partners, you can go an adventure. In battle, cooperation between partners is an important point. Furthermore, by hearing the protagonist's voice the Digimon power up and new components [of battle] are made ready.

When there are 2 partner Digimon, the two of them will attack separately, and if their strength isn't low it's possible they will protect one another while fighting.

Digimon V-Tamer 01 Mangaka Teases 8/21 V-Jump Announcement

Six hours ago the artist behind Digimon Adventure V-Tamer 01, Yabuno Tenya, uploaded a commemorative Odaiba Day sketch to his Twitter account honoring August 1st. Yabuno's sketch promises new information about V-Tamer 01 in the August 21st issue of V-Jump magazine, the magazine that originally serialized V-Tamer 01 for over four years. August 21st was also the date on which the manga's final chapter was published in V-Jump. Yabuno tweeted the following;

Ｖテイマー落書。8月21日にならないと詳しく告知できないそうなので、また、その頃ちゃんと描きます。どうぞよろしくお願いします！
"V-Tamer scribble. While it seems that until August 21st I cannot give a detailed announcement, still, at that time I will draw again. Thank you very much!"

Japanese fans on Twitter are ecstatic at the news, with many of them having a particular nostalgia for V-Tamer, which predated the Adventure anime series in Japan. Many are shocked by the news, not expecting anything new related to the long-finished series. Exactly what kind of V-Tamer material will be included in this coming issue of V-Jump is uncertain, but fan support for Yabuno's work is strong. In a later comment, Yabuno cryptically added "Somehow, I wonder if this is too suggestive of the announcement... (^^; Uumm, for now, it's better not to buy the expensive volumes on Amazon." While a reprint of the manga is possible, this may not be the only V-Tamer related news to come out of the issue--reserving the announcement for that month's V-Jump may point to something slightly more substantial than just a reissue.

V-Tamer 01 remains the longest continuously running Digimon manga in franchise history, chronicling the adventure of Yagami Taichi (based on a prototype of the Adventure protagonist) and his V-dramon Zeromaru. During its run, the manga featured crossover sidestories with every season of the animated Digimon franchise through Frontier. It was originally used to promote the Digital Monster virtual pets and later the Pendulum series devices, although it opted not to include the Pendulum X series developed late in the manga's life. After its storyline was completed the manga was later compiled into nine volumes. A new entry in the series now would be the first new material for V-Tamer 01 in twelve years to the day.
