D-3 Ver. 15th Paildramon Color Sells Out in Five Days

March 11th, 2016. The latest color version of the D-3 Digivice Ver. 15th became available via the Premium Bandai web shop today, in a run of just 3,000 units. Like with the black and blue Ver. 15ths before it, the Paildramon Color device is being given a limited run. Based on the color scheme of Motomiya Daisuke & Ichijouji Ken's Jogress D-3, the toy goes on sale for 9,990 yen from 11:00 PM Japanese Standard Time. The finished devices will ship in July. Those that order it will receive a Paildramon illustration sheet.

The Digivice will contain more than 150 Digimon, with more than 80 being usable by the player. There are six available partner Digimon, the selection being derived from Digimon Adventure 02; Patamon, Hawkmon, V-mon, Wormmon, Armadimon, and Tailmon. Aside from the color the device appears to be identical to its predecessors, with the structure of the Paildramon Color's gameplay following the same route as the original Ver. 15th D-3. The LCD toy tours players through the world of the anime series, culminating in a final battle with Armagemon. Imperialdramon Paladin Mode will be available on this Digivice just as he will be in the preceding D-3 Ver. 15th, and by connecting it to a first generation Ver. 15th, tamers can unlock a special message.

As of March 16th, the device is sold out, with "no plans" for a continuation.

The 15th Anniversary D-3 Will Include 5 Times as Many Digimon as the Original

Original image uploaded by @kimi_463
December 18th, 2015. This month's issue of V Jump magazine contains several new pieces of information about the upcoming D-3 Ver. 15th Digivice, which will go up for preorder on the Premium Bandai web shop in less than seven days' time. According to V Jump, the D-3 will contain more than 150 Digimon, over 80 of which can be trained by the player. Tamers will not be locked to just V-mon and Wormmon; they will have their choice out of six Digimon partners, including Armadimon, Tailmon, Patamon, and Hawkmon.

For the first time ever, the D-3 will include Imperialdramon Paladin Mode from Diablomon's Counterattack, who was previously only available on the D-Arc Digivice. Moreover, the D-3 Ver. 15th will be able to connect and battle with original Digivice Ver. 15ths, maintaining connectivity between last year's and this year's models. Those that purchase the new D-3s will also receive a set of 5 illustrations featuring Yagami Taichi, Ishida Yamato, Motomiya Daisuke, and Ichijouji Ken. Only six thousand D-3s will be produced in total between the black and blue D-3s, each of which will be priced at 9990 yen (approx. $81 at present exchange rates) and the devices will ship in June 2016.

Although not overtly stated, the presence of four additional Digimon lines suggests that there will not be any additional versions of the D-3 Ver. 15th, as there were for the Digivice Ver. 15th. The original D-3 released in 2000 had just two base Digimon per device, but with thirteen evolutions for each Digimon.

The magazine also makes mention of the Omegamon NXEDGE Style figure launching this April, and of MegaHouse's upcoming G.E.M. Series Ishida Yamato & Garurumon figure.

Mastemon & Jesmon Will Appear in -next 0rder-

Over November 26th, subculture interest site Otacom uploaded a scan from that week's issue of Weekly Shonen Jump. The issue prominently features Executor, the black Omegamon recently teased on the official website and in last month's V Jump, and also shows several Ultimate-level Digimon that will be in the game.

Imperialdramon Paladin Mode, Jesmon, and Mastemon are all confirmed as possible partners by the magazine, with Mastemon being described as a Jogress of Lady Devimon and Angewomon, just as she was in Cyber Sleuth. Seeing as Omegamon is also referred to in the same scan as a fusion of War Greymon and Metal Garurumon, it's possible that like Omegamon, Mastemon will be the product of an "ExE"-volution.

The issue's profile for Executor is mostly identical to monthly V Jump's profile.

Digimon World -next 0rder- will launch in Japan on March 17th, 2016, on the PlayStation Vita. Those that preorder the game will receive Digimon World's soundtrack as a bonus.

A Patamon DigiBat toy and Pendulum 4.0: Metal Empire get ready to go head-to-head.
Over December 7th Digimon event organizer DIGIMADO uploaded the final results of the December 5th All Digimon Cultural Exchange, providing a detailed list of the top-placing Digimon tamers in the day's tournaments. The top 4 from the Digivice tournament and top 2 from the Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth tournament are presented below. Not listed is the Patamon battler toy that also made it into the top 8, much to the surprise of those attending.

The Cyber Sleuth tournament originally had eight participants, but three dropped from the competition. The previous tournament back in September had six competitors. As at past events, participants were subject to a chess clock ruleset that limited them to 15 minutes to execute all of their turns within, with their timers freezing during their opponent's turn.

Although a Digimon All-Star Rumble tournament was originally scheduled to take place at 6 PM, the competition was ultimately not held due to a lack of participants. While interest in the Digivice toys has grown following the premiere of Digimon Adventure tri., it seems interest in the Rumble games has begun to wane.
Digivice Tournament Top 4
1st: Sorakichi/そらきち Digivice Ver. 15th (Amazon affiliate) with Omegamon
2nd: Uerusu/うぇるす Digivice Ver. 15th (Amazon affiliate) with Holydramon
3rd: Sasakani/ささかに Digivice Ver. 15th (Amazon affiliate) with Herakle Kabuterimon
4th: Top D1/トップD1 Digimon Pendulum 5.0: Metal Empire (eBay affiliate) with Clockmon
Sasakani placed also second in the previous Digivice tournament, partnered to Herakle Kabuterimon.
Cyber Sleuth Tournament Top 2
1st: Jitenryuu/地天竜 (Lilithmon, Imperialdramon Paladin Mode, Belphemon Rage Mode, Boltmon, Plesiomon, Dynasmon, Dianamon)
2nd: Sasakani/ささかに (Etemon, others unknown)
Jitenryuu uploaded his team to Twitter, while Sasakani has not. Jitenryuu is one of the better Cyber Sleuth players in Japan; this is his third consecutive first-place win at the DIGIMADO tournament series, having also placed first in last September's tournament and in the March DIGIMADO before that. His in-game name when seen playing online is Saito (サイト). A full translation of his team's setup is given below.

A number of other activities were held at the 12/5 Exchange. Participants could take part in Digimon World X group play, a toy tournament using the Happy Meal Legendary Set spinning tops, and a demo session of several old Digimon Adventure toys, including Digimon Mountain & Digimon Mountain Mini. The date of the next DIGIMADO tournament has not yet been set, but given its quarterly structure, may be expected to take place sometime in March.

Jitenryuu's Cyber Sleuth team (Total Memory Use 150)
In general, Jitenryuu built his team to be less dependent on the Spirit Drain and Physical Drain skills, using Lilithmon's passive SP restoration Support Skill to keep them at a minimum. Several recurring skills are seen below; Safety Guard gives its target a property that prevents them from going down in a single hit, retaining 1 HP if they had more than that prior to the attack hitting. Restore cures all status effects on a single target and recovers a small amount of HP, and Status Barrier nullifies the next status effect that hits its target. In his choice of accessories, Jitenryuu emphasized coverage of the Dot status effect first on his team's cleric (Plesiomon) to prevent their skills from being shut down, and prioritized blocking Panic and Sleep on his other Digimon. His team focused primarily on the Data attribute with several of the necessary Viruses, barely using Vaccine at all due to its prevalence and subsequent vulnerability to Data.

Note that the levels and stats given in the screenshots are mostly irrelevant. All Digimon are scaled to level 50 in multiplayer, and the only stats that make a difference are bonus stats, which are capped at +100 from farm training or 1000 for HP (every 10 points invested gives 100 HP). In order to provide a relevant comparison, the level 1 base stats of the Digimon are given blow, rather than their actual levels. The personalities of the Digimon have not been stated, but Lilithmon and Imperialdramon Paladin Mode are both likely Durable (+10% HP) based on their stats.

Lilithmon (Wreath)/Virus-Dark (22 Memory)
Ultimate
+1000 HP (Farm training)
Skills: Phantom Pain/Spirit Drain/Safety Guard/Perfect Revive/Restore/Shine Laser III
Accessory: Master Barrier
Lilithmon is one of the most notorious offensive Digimon in the game; excluding HP she has the highest base stat total of any Digimon, even higher than the game's five Super Ultimate Digimon. This high BST is carried entirely by her Intelligence, which is the third-highest after Barbamon and Lucemon Satan Mode. Her Special Skill Phantom Pain is one of the few skills that deals Piercing damage, ignoring all defensive stats as well as regular damage calculation, and instead dealing Dark damage equal to 3x Lilithmon's Intelligence to a single enemy while having a 35% chance to inflict Poison. The prevalence of different kinds of Piercing damage in multiplayer is one reason why Defense is almost never invested in as a stat, and bonus stats are only allocated to Intelligence for offensive purposes--defensively, it's better to invest in HP. Lilithmon herself has one of the lowest HP totals of any fully evolved Digimon, and Jitenryuu invested in HP for this very reason.

Level 1 Base Stats
HP 550 SP 140
ATK 60 INT 160
DEF 60 SPD 115

Her Support Skill, Lust, converts 10% of any damage dealt by a physical attack against the team into SP. Lust partially negates dependency on Drain skills to restore SP, making Lilithmon both an offensive and defensive pick.

Imperialdramon Paladin Mode (Pendulum)/Vaccine-Light (25 Memory)
Super Ultimate
+1000 HP (Farm training)
Skills: Omega Blade/Perfect Revive/Meteor Fall III/Texture Blow/Restore/Status Barrier
Accessory: Master Barrier
Paladin Mode is a more evenly spread out Digimon, with equally good offensive and defensive stats in all parameters, achieved by sacrificing Speed to distribute his points among other stats. His Omega Blade has a base damage of 150, and a 10% chance to inflict the Dot status effect. Meteor Fall III is exactly half as powerful as Omega Blade, but hits the entire opposing party for physical Fire-attribute damage. Texture Blow is a weak Wind attack that always inflicts Dot if the opponent is not immune to it, locking off their skills and preventing Xros Combos from occurring.

Level 1 Base Stats
HP 1,000 SP 105
ATK 105 INT 105
DEF 105 SPD 100

Paladin Mode's Support Skill is Salvation's Defense, which reduces all incoming damage from attacks with an attribute advantage by 15%.

Belphemon Rage Mode (Belphemon RM)/Virus-Dark (25 Memory)
Super Ultimate
+96 SP +4 Speed (Farm training)
Skills: Gift of Darkness/Shock/Saint Knuckle III/AntiDot/AntiSleep/Revive
Belphemon is the other heavy hitter after Lilithmon, being a physical attacker rather than a magical one. Rage Mode has the highest physical attack of any Digimon, and Gift of Darkness rivals Phantom Pain for damage output, dealing single target Piercing Dark damage equal to 3x his Attack stat. Rage Mode isn't nearly as SP efficient as Lilithmon though, as Gift of Darkness has a flat 60 SP cost, which at level 50 he only has enough SP to use one. It's for this reason that Jitenryuu primarily invested his bonus stats in SP; with 96 points in SP Rage Mode would have 180 SP at level 50, enough for exactly three Gifts of Darkness. His high HP and Defense both cater to tanking physical hits, which pair well with Lust's damage-derived HP restoration.

Level 1 Base Stats
HP 1,200 SP 45
ATK 184 INT 70
DEF 110 SPD 91

Belphemon Rage Mode's Support Skill, Howl of Wrath, has a 30% chance to inflict Death on any Digimon Perfect-level or lower when a Digimon on his team uses a normal attack.

Boltmon (Ghoul)/Data-Electric
Ultimate
+1000 HP (Farm training)
Skills: Tomahawk Steiner/Shock/Panic Wisp/Idle Bubble/Physical Drain/Texture Blow
Accessories: Panic Barrier DX/Bug Barrier DX/Sleep Barrier DX
Boltmon has been alternatively theorized in Cyber Sleuth with Grand Locomon as a counter to Ulforce and Aero V-dramon, because of V-dramon's Vaccine-Wind attribute combination giving him a 3.5x weakness to Data-Electric. The catch to this is that in order to outspeed a V-dramon's Godspeed ability and get three extra turns at the beginning of the battle, one has to have a V-dramon of their own in play and outspeed the opponent's Digimon. Rather than try to balance a complex opening setup with Boltmon and Ulforce to try and take the lead and immediately knock out opposing Ulforces, Jitenryuu chose Boltmon as a status inducer. His high HP make him well-suited to the role, as even Lilithmon can't score a one-hit kill on a fully invested Boltmon unless she puts points into Intelligence rather than HP.

Shock, Panic Wisp, Idle Bubble, and Texture Blow are the respective status inducing skills for the Earth, Fire, Water, and Wind attributes. Shock inflicts Stun, Wisp inflicts Panic, Bubble inflicts Sleep, and Texture inflicts Dot. Boltmon's Tomahawk Steiner has a base damage of 130 and a 15% chance to inflict Panic when it hits.

Level 1 Base Stats
HP 1,000 SP 44
ATK 135 INT 45
DEF 105 SPD 91

His Support Skill is Immobility, which gives him innate immunity to the Stun status.

Plesiomon (Lesio)/Data-Water (18 Memory)
Ultimate
+100 Speed (Farm training)
Skills: Sorrow Blue/Spirit Drain/Safety Guard/Perfect Revive/Final Aura/Restore
Accessories: Dot Barrier DX/Panic Barrier DX/Sleep Barrier DX
Jitenryuu chose Plesiomon as his cleric, an unusual but also highly effective choice. Unlike other clerics, Plesiomon is well suited to spreading status when not doing healing, and has one of the game's rare Piercing options. His Special Skill Sorrow Blow deals Piercing Water damage to all foes equal to his Intelligence stat, while having a 25% chance to inflict Sleep, and his Support Skill Deep Sea Sleep gives the entire party a 10% chance to inflict Sleep while attacking normally.

Level 1 Base Stats
HP 1,150 SP 95
ATK 95 INT 125
DEF 65 SPD 85

Plesiomon functions like a lower-costed Belphemon Sleep Mode with a decreased probability of going off, but that low memory cost makes him more viable as a cleric as well as a Sleep inducer.

Dynasmon (Dynas)/Data-Wind (22 Memory)
Ultimate
+1000 HP (Farm training) +25 Speed (Accessory)
Skills: Breath of Wyvern/Dragon's Roar/Panic Wisp/Physical Drain/Restore/Idle Bubble
Accessory: SPD Attache A
Breath of Wyvern is a physical attack that deals 110 Wind damage to all foes, then deals 20% HP as recoil damage to the user. Dragon's Roar is a physical attack that deals 55 Fire damage twice, absorbing 50% of the cumulative damage dealt as HP. Dragon's Roar makes Dynasmon an incredibly hardy Digimon even when standing up to Piercing damage, and its damage is further boosted by his Support Skill.

Level 1 Base Stats
HP 1,100 SP 70
ATK 150 INT 55
DEF 85 SPD 120

Flying Dragon increases the damage dealt by Fire and Wind skills by 10%, playing back into Dynasmon's two primary elements. When coupled with Imperialdramon Paladin Mode's Meteor Fall III or the Dot-inducing Texture Blow seen above, this significantly increases the damage being spread by Meteor and ensures that Texture Blow's lower base damage isn't significantly taking away from damage that could otherwise be dealt on a turn spent inflicting Dot.

Dianamon (Luna)/Data-Water (20 Memory)
Ultimate
+500 HP +50 Speed (Farm training)
Skills: Goodnight Moon/Restore/Status Barrier/Perfect Revive/Safety Guard/Spirit Drain
Accessory: Dot Barrier DX
Dianamon is an offensively weak Digimon with strong defensive stats designed to assist Plesiomon and Boltmon into spreading Sleep; Goodnight Moon deals 125 magical Light damage to one foe, and inflicts the obvious status effect. Like Lilithmon, Dianamon's HP is extremely low relative to her evolutionary stage, and investing in HP for bonus stats is designed to address that. With 50 additional Speed, Dianamon outspeeds the base stats of every other Digimon, though Ulforce and Lord Knightmon can both outdo her with equal investment.

Level 1 Base Stats
HP 400 SP 115
ATK 50 INT 135
DEF 110 SPD 125

Her Support Skill is Moonlight Glistening Sword which buffs Water and Light damage by 10%, powering up both herself and Plesiomon.

Omegamon Wins December 12/5 Digivice Tournament, Dianamon Tops Cyber Sleuth Tournament

Original photo uploaded by @digimado.
Update: A detailed top cut has been posted.
December 5th, 2015. Today Japanese Digimon fan event organizer DIGIMADO hosted the end-of-year All Digimon Cultural Exchange, a combination meetup and tournament series revolving around the various Digimon games. The Exchange was scheduled a month in advance, and registration was coordinated over the TwiPla event scheduling site. Although preregistration numbers were at a low of 27 out of their 55-person cap, a significant number of walk-ins lead to more than 40 persons joining in. A record high of 18 people participated in the Digivice & virtual pet tournament; fans at DIGIMADO are usually drawn to the video game and trading card events instead, and the increase in participants likely reflects new interest following the premiere Digimon Adventure tri.

Incredibly, one tamer using a Patamon DigiBat figure made it to the tournament finals, taking down multiple Digivice Ver. 15th opponents like Metal Garurumon and War Greymon. The DigiBat figures normally connect as if they are an Agumon on a Digital Monster Ver. 1, with one of the most middle-of-the-ground power levels of any Digimon. Usually the DigiBat toys are used as punching bags to rack up a high win ratio on the virtual pets, but in today's DIGIMADO tournament the bags punched back.

The top 4 included a Patamon DigiBat, a Digimon Pendulum 5.0: Metal Empire pet, and a Digivice Ver. 15th. The tournament was ultimately won by Sorakichi (@soraki_t) partnered to Omegamon on his Digivice Ver. 15th. Sorakichi was awarded with a Digmon plush toy for making first place. The 18-person tournament included at least 9 Digivice Ver. 15ths, 2 DigiBat toys, 1 Pendulum ZERO, and 2 Pendulum Progress 1.0: Dragon's Roar virtual pets. The previous Digivice tournament was won by Gerumon, partnered to Jesmon on the Digivice Ver. 15th.

The DIGIMADO Cultural Exchange also included separate competitions for Digimon All-Star Rumble, Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, and the Hyper Colosseum Digimon TCG. The winner of the Hyper Colosseum tournament was Butterscotch, playing Lucemon Falldown Mode; second place played Matadormon, one of the most popular decks in the metagame.

The exact details of the Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth tournament are still yet to be published. The tournament finalists' in-game names were Saito and Takumi; Saito won the tournament using Dianamon, Dynasmon, and Imperialdramon Paladin Mode. Takumi's exact party is unclear, but it's known that his last Digimon standing was Etemon. Although most tamers use fully evolved Ultimate Digimon in Cyber Sleuth's multiplayer, some Perfect-level Digimon like Etemon and Aero V-dramon still see play because of their lower memory costs and skills on par with Ultimate Digimon. In Etemon's case, his Reinforced Monkey Suit reduces all physical damage by 15% for the entire party, and his Love Serenade is one of the rare piercing attacks in the game that ignores defensive stats, while dealing damage to the entire opposing party equal to his Intelligence.

All Digimon were automatically scaled to level 50 during the tournament, and tamers were restricted to a party size of 150 memory maximum, with no more than 11 Digimon in total. Each tamer was allotted fifteen minutes per turn to make their moves in, and only one Digimon could have healing or restoration skills, limiting the defensive options available. Saito's team was structured around passive buffs; Dynasmon and Dianamon's Support Skills respectively boost Fire, Light & Water damage by 10%, while Paladin Mode's Support Skill reduces incoming damage by 10% if the opponent has an attribute advantage.

Saito's Dynasmon also helped get around the healing restriction with its Dragon's Roar Special Skill. Dragon's Roar restores Dynasmon's HP equal to 50% of the damage it deals, and its damage is already boosted 10% by his Support Skill in addition to hitting twice. Layered over several turns, this has the effect of mitigating damage dealt to Dynasmon. A secondary focus of his team was status effects, which are very powerful in Cyber Sleuth due to immunity only being possible through specific attachable items. Dianamon's Goodnight Moon Special Skill always inflicts the Sleep status effect on its target, effectively taking them out of the battle unless the opponent spends a turn trying to recover the status, by which time another of their Digimon will likely be asleep. Dianamon also ranks very highly in Cyber Sleuth's Speed tiers, second only to Lord Knightmon and Ulforce V-dramon, giving her more turns on average to inflict Sleep in.

DIGIMADO (デジ窓 "Digi Window") is the de facto lead organizational force in the Japanese fandom since Odaiba Day 2009. Their formation was prompted by the demise of Bandai's official systems of organized play for all Digimon card games in 2008. In addition to hosting fan gatherings for the virtual pets, video games, and card games, DIGIMADO also puts out occasional podcasts in Japanese. Fitting its origins as a TCG event organizer, DIGIMADO's mascot is Cardmon C1, from Digimon World 3: The Door of A New Adventure. Participants in DIGIMADO events usually go by their Twitter handles, rather than their real names.

Western Digimon fans have begun to emulate DIGIMADO, beginning with the Digimon Celebration event series founded by the Digimon World Tour organization. The first Digimon Celebration will take place in Pittsburgh on February 6th, 2016, four days after the North American launch of Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth.
