The 15th Anniversary D-3 Will Include 5 Times as Many Digimon as the Original

December 18th, 2015. This month's issue of V Jump magazine contains several new pieces of information about the upcoming D-3 Ver. 15th Digivice, which will go up for preorder on the Premium Bandai web shop in less than seven days' time. According to V Jump, the D-3 will contain more than 150 Digimon, over 80 of which can be trained by the player. Tamers will not be locked to just V-mon and Wormmon; they will have their choice out of six Digimon partners, including Armadimon, Tailmon, Patamon, and Hawkmon.

For the first time ever, the D-3 will include Imperialdramon Paladin Mode from Diablomon's Counterattack, who was previously only available on the D-Arc Digivice. Moreover, the D-3 Ver. 15th will be able to connect and battle with original Digivice Ver. 15ths, maintaining connectivity between last year's and this year's models. Those that purchase the new D-3s will also receive a set of 5 illustrations featuring Yagami Taichi, Ishida Yamato, Motomiya Daisuke, and Ichijouji Ken. Only six thousand D-3s will be produced in total between the black and blue D-3s, each of which will be priced at 9990 yen (approx. $81 at present exchange rates) and the devices will ship in June 2016.

Although not overtly stated, the presence of four additional Digimon lines suggests that there will not be any additional versions of the D-3 Ver. 15th, as there were for the Digivice Ver. 15th. The original D-3 released in 2000 had just two base Digimon per device, but with thirteen evolutions for each Digimon.

The magazine also makes mention of the Omegamon NXEDGE Style figure launching this April, and of MegaHouse's upcoming G.E.M. Series Ishida Yamato & Garurumon figure.

P-Bandai Launches Page for D-3 Ver. 15th: Digimon Detect & Discover Digivice

November 20th, 2015. The Premium Bandai anime goods shopping site has added a page on on the upcoming D-3 Ver. 15th: Digimon Detect & Discover Digivice, a reissue of the 2000 toy similar to 2014's Digivice Ver. 15th. The exact list of Digimon included is currently unknown, but V-mon and Stingmon's complete lines have been confirmed by the poster. The slogan for the device is a reference to the lyrics of Digimon Adventure 02's Japanese opening theme, Target ~Akai Shougeki~, which opens "The story that has beguns to revolve at full speed dyes the earth red." Exactly what kind of gameplay the Ver. 15th D-3 will have is unclear; the original device used radio wave detection to gather Digimentals, and used the Digimon Link System to connect with the D-Terminal toy and WonderSwan Digimon games to unlock higher stage evolutions. The new devices have the original DLS logo on them, but appear to have their WonderSwan ports removed.

Preorders for the device will open on December 25th, at which time Bandai will also begin publishing more information about the D-3. Only the first six thousand orders for both models cumulatively will be taken. The device is priced at 9990 yen, approximately $82 at the current exchange rate. Fans not residing in Japan will have to go through a middleman service to purchase the device, as P-Bandai does not service countries other than Japan.

Bear in mind that all three models of the Digivice Ver. 15th originally preordered for exactly the same price and currently go for between $160 and $270 on the secondary market, so tamers that are interested in the D-3 should place their orders as quickly as possible. 

The preorder start time is 11:00 PM Japanese Standard Time on December 25th, 2015, and the devices will ship out in June 2016. As with the previous Ver. 15th, this is likely the only Digimon electronic that will be launched in the coming year, barring another color version. It's recommended that fans support the device so that the other products P-Bandai surveyed the public about can be launched further down the line.

The D-3 Ver. 15th was originally leaked through a flier packaged with the Original Color Digivice Ver. 15th, a photo of which was uploaded by Japanese fan hisa [sic] to Twitter on July 25th, 2015. The D-3 will launch in classic Motomiya Daisuke and Ichijouji Ken colors. Any other color options remain unconfirmed, but the original D-3 from 2000 came in eight different color sets, including three that never appeared in the anime proper.

New -next 0rder- Screenshots Tease Messaging, Twin Partner System

November 6th, 2015. The Digimon World -next 0rder- title site has updated with a new batch of screenshots, this time focusing on the game's dual partner care system. Each partner Digimon is assigned to one of two slots in the field, and while they live on synchronized sleep schedules, they behave asynchronously making their own comments and moving independently of one another. The Digimon partner system has structural similarities to the 2007 Digimon Twin virtual pet, which like -next 0rder- split the tamer's partners into L and R Digimon.

The screenshots also tease a messaging system, with notifications similar to Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth's DigiLine. The DigiLine system allowed the player to text in-game characters with preprogrammed responses, but given -next 0rder-'s much smaller cast, this feature may have a slightly tweaked purpose.

The previous batch of screenshots showed the game's variety of environments, and diverse partner Digimon. Digimon World -next 0rder- will launch on the PlayStation Vita and PSTV in 2016.

Wormmon is interested in something "Over there!" but bumps into Lopmon while trying to get at it.

Both Digimon say "I'm sleepy..." simultaneously...
