Dengeki Online Explains Mikagura Mirei's Presence in -next 0rder-

February 18th, 2016. Japanese gaming news outlet Dengeki Online published an article giving an overview of several new aspects of Digimon World -next 0rder-, including the playable Shoutmon and Gumdramon, online multiplayer, the village of Flowtier, and postgame dungeons. The article provides a profile for Mikagura Mirei, a recurring character originating from Digimon World Re:Digitize, who has gone on to appear in several parallel universes through the Digimon canon. Previously Mirei acted as the host of the DigiLab in Cyber Sleuth.

Mikagura Mirei (Seiyuu: Sawashiro Miyuki)

"One who watches over worlds. During a digitization experiment an accident occurred, and a part of her data was flung to the Digital World in a corrupted state. From a special information space, she has the power (administrator privileges) to travel to and from parallel worlds."

Mirei: "There are cases where crises have caused the Digital World to encroach on the human world."

Mirei: "That's right. Let's begin right away."

Mirei is voiced by Sawashiro Miyuki, known for playing Elizabeth of the Velvet Room in the Persona series. Her ability to travel between parallel worlds is how she's continued to appear in the newer Digimon games, connecting various universes across the Digimon Story and Digimon World continuities.

According to Dengeki, each area of the town of Flowtier corresponds to a section of the original Village of Beginnings from Digimon World. For example, the Central District contains Jijimon's house and a construction shop for improving buildings, and originates from the central area of the original game. The Commerce District contains item shops and restaurants, corresponding to the hospital and business areas of the original village. In addition to the coliseum expected of the Amusement District, it also contains a fishing pond for tamers to use.

The Research District contains laboratories and training facilities, including an "Evolution Dojo" where tamers can get hints about their partners' evolution paths. The Different Dimension District is a mysterious area housing a dimensional transfer device. Flowtier starts as a small village and then gradually expands its facilities at the player progresses, opening up new areas.

About Connection Battle

A player chooses which partners' data they want to upload to the network server.

By downloading other players' data from the network server, players can connect and battle with the partners they raised. They can also change the type of keychain cage their partner is housed in, and modify their online ID that will be used as a display name.

A player downloads their battle opponent's data from the server and then commences the battle.

The visuals are designed to elicit nostalgia for the original virtual pets. Players can battle opponents from all across Japan.

After tamers clear the story, they can access a postgame dungeon featuring the most difficult enemies available.

Online War Greymon Mutates into Mugendramon

February 17th, 2016. The War Greymon that fans had so diligently raised on the Digimon World -next 0rder- title site underwent a sudden mutation, becoming a Mugendramon. Jijimon is calling this unexpected change a "different system" (異構築) rather than an "evolution," stating that it's due to some incident beginning in his world. At this time, there is nothing fans can do to revert Mugendramon to his previous stage; Jijimon simply asks them to investigate what's going on in his world.

The mutation is likely related to the mass transformation into Mugendramon previously revealed to be going on in -next 0rder-'s Digital World. The phenomenon originates from "Analogman's curse," a postgame quest from the original Digimon World in which a Digimon would turn into Mugendramon once every in-game year.

Shinomiya Rina & Ulforce V-dramon to Return in -next 0rder-, Omega Shoutmon & Arresterdramon Shown in V Jump

February 18th, 2016. This month's issue of V Jump magazine has been leaked by several different fans acting independently on Twitter. The latest issue reveals that Shinomiya Rina of Digimon World Re:Digitize Decode will be reappearing in -next 0rder- as part of the second of two downloadable scenarios. The first scenario "Maicoomon's Mystery" will have the player help a Maicoomon who came from another world recover her lost members, while the second scenario "The Super First-Class Great Beautiful Girl Tamer Appears!!" has the protagonist become Rina's "disciple."

According to Jump, after starting the game tamers can use their internet connection to download these scenarios free of charge. Rina had previously appeared as part of a crossover with Cyber Sleuth, and Mikagura Mirei--also of the Re:Digitize universe--has been confirmed to be joining the cast of -next 0rder-.

The issue confirms the appearances of Omega Shoutmon and Arresterdramon as possible evolutions for Shoutmon and Gumdramon in -next 0rder-. Profiles for several new antagonists seen in the most recent trailer were also shown.

Metal Etemon and Titamon are said to be assisting Tsuzuki Shouma, along with his partners Kuzuhamon and Gaioumon. Metal Etemon is voiced by Matsutani Yasunori (増谷康紀) who previously portrayed both Etemon and Metal Etemon in Digimon Adventure.

Titamon is voiced by Egawa Hisao (江川央生) who voiced Ogremon and Mugendramon in Adventure. One screenshot shows Metal Etemon conversing with a Nanomon, a possible allusion to Etemon and Nanomon's rivalry in Adventure.

The information on Maicoomon, Rina, and the Xros series Digimon was simultaneously published in Weekly Jump. Neither magazine clarifies how Omega Shoutmon and Arresterdramon are treated in terms of level. This will be the first Digimon game to include them in a non-Xros specific setting, as in their home universes the two have no level.

V Jump also states that the official V Jump Books guide for -next 0rder- will launch soon, possibly simultaneous to the game itself.

New -next 0rder- Screenshots Tease Dialogue Samples, NPC Shoutmon

February 12th, 2016. The official Digimon World -next 0rder- title site published four new screenshots, each showing a line of dialogue from the various Digimon the player meets in the game. Of note is that the final screenshot shows an NPC Shoutmon in the village of Flowtier. This is Shoutmon's first appearance in a World game, and until now he was only shown to be a raisable Digimon with no storyline role. English translations are provided below.

English Subbed Digimon Linkz 2/11 Trailer

February 11th, 2016. In today's Tokuban Adventure livestream a new two minute trailer for the 2016 smartphone game Digimon Linkz was shown to the public. Above is Tamer Union's subbed recording of the trailer. The trailer shows off the game's two main gameplay components, raising Digimon on a DigiFarm not unlike in the Digimon Story series, and engaging in three-on-three battles against both computer and human opponents.

Linkz was originally announced for a 2015 launch, but was delayed tp 2016 due to production issues. More than fifty thousand people have preregistered for the game, and as part of its promotional campaign Bandai has set up a special LINE messaging account for it that sends information about the game to users' phones.

Maicoomon Gameplay Shown in -next 0rder-

February 11th, 2016. In today's Tokuban Adventure livestream, hosts Yoshida Hitomi and Enoki Junya showed a gameplay clip from the upcoming Digimon World -next 0rder-, featuring female protagonist Shiki with Tailmon and the DLC Maicoomon as her Digimon partners. Maicoomon was previously revealed to be downloadable content for the game last November.

In the stream it was specified that Maicoomon can be obtained as free DLC; Digimon tamers will receive her evolution item after completing an additional scenario, which can then be used to evolve one of their two Digimon partners into Maicoomon.

First 6 Minutes of Digimon Adventure tri. "Decision" Shown in Livestream

February 11th, 2016. In today's Tokuban Adventure livestream over NicoNico Douga, the voices of Tachikawa Mimi and Kido Jou, Yoshida Hitomi and Ikeda Junya, presented audiences with information about several upcoming products, including the 15th anniversary D-3 Digivice Paildramon Color and Blu-Ray releases of Digimon Adventure tri.'s second chapter, Ketsui. ("Decision" or "Determination) The pair showed off a new trailer for Ketsui, as well as the first six minutes of the film. (Something similar had been done for the first chapter, Reunion.) This six minute preview is presented above.

The new trailer featured Jou's Gomamon evolving to Vikemon, and at the end a brief clip from the third chapter Kokuhaku ("Confession") was shown, in which Takeru screamed "Patamon!" This second trailer will likely be officially uploaded by Toei within 24 hours.

Gameplay clips from Digimon World -next 0rder- were also shown, along with a new trailer for the 2016 smartphone game Digimon Linkz. The Maicoomon gameplay can be seen here, while Linkz trailer is being processed and will be uploaded shortly.
