Digimon Dub Composer Paul Gordon Dead at 52

On February 18th, 2016, Digimon: Digital Monsters dub theme composer Paul Christian Gordon died in Nashville after battling with an unstated illness. He was 52 years old. Having composed soundtracks for Saban's dubs of Digimon and Power Rangers, he also played for the B-52s from 2007 until his death. His works for Digimon include the DigiRap used in Digimon: The Movie, Hey Digimon used in the film and Adventure dub, and the Digital Monsters main theme used in the first three seasons.

The news was broken by country singer Jennifer Nettles over Instagram; Gordon had been touring with Nettles' band in January. Gordon is survived by his wife, Jennifer Lysak Gordon, and his two sons.

Alphamon Download Code to Be Included in Aoi Eir's "Accentier" Single

January 22nd, 2016. The official Digimon World -next 0rder- title site updated with the cover art of Aoi Eir's latest single Accentier, out March 2nd. Accentier will serve as the title theme to -next 0rder-, and has already been featured in many of its trailers. The album cover is illustrated by Taiki, the character designer for -next 0rder-, and it features protagonists Shiki and Takuto.

The website also revealed that a product code packaged with the album will allow tamers to download the special evolution item "Black Cavalry Core," which evolves their Digimon partner to Alphamon. This is similar to the preorder bonus and first print DLC items that Bandai previously announced.

Digimon World -next 0rder- will launch in Japan March 17th, 2016, on the PlayStation Vita for 6,980 yen (7,539 JPY after tax).

Short Preview for Aoi Eir's New Single "Accentier," Lyrics Translation

Over January 11th, 2016, musician Aoi Eir uploaded a short lyric video for her latest single Accentier, which will serve as the title theme to the upcoming Digimon World -next 0rder-. The music video does not feature Aoi herself, but instead a sequence of computer-generated images synched to the first minute of Accentier. A translation of the lyrics is provided below; the video is region blocked, and may not work for viewers from all countries without the use of a VPN.

Aoi is a fan of the Digimon World series, having played the original game with her younger brother when she was a child. Like -next 0rder- character designer Taiki, she has a personal investment in the series. She will also be appearing in an upcoming Digimon World reunion livestream on the 21st, as a representative of the game's userbase.

Remastered Digimon World OST Samples Put Up on -next 0rder- Site

December 19th, 2015. Among the preorder bonuses uploaded to the official Digimon World -next 0rder- title site is a tracklist for the remastered Digimon World soundtrack that will be included with first print copies of the game, as well as a set of four short music samples of the remastered OST. These tracks are Let's Walk Together (used for Gear Savanna at night), the iconic Earth and the Blue Sky (Gear Savanna day), Rejection Fight (used for battles against Digimon that refuse to return to the Village of Beginnings), and Digital Spirit (battle with Mugendramon). Fans can listen to the remastered tracks on the site.

Digimon World's soundtrack was originally composed by Yamada Kouji (山田耕治) and Ishii Yuko (石井祐子), employees of BEC (Bandai Entertainment Company, formerly a subsidiary of Bandai and now of Bandai Namco Holdings). Yamada has been working in game soundtracks for over twenty years, currently specializing in chiptune and other retro gaming music.

Digimon World -next 0rder- will launch in Japan on March 17th, 2016, for the PlayStation Vita. It will retail for 6,800 yen. It is the latest entry in the World series, succeeding directly from Re:Digitize Decode on the 3DS, Re:Digitize on the PSP, and World on the PSX.

Aoi Eir to Sing Digimon World -next 0rder-'s Main Theme

November 2nd, 2015. During her live tour today at Nippon Budokan, Japanese singer Aoi Eir (藍井エイル) announced that she will be responsible for the main theme of Digimon World -next 0rder-. Her statement was later corroborated by Sony Music and her personal staff. Aoi previously performed the openings for Bandai Namco's Sword Art Online games. The name of the main theme has not been given.

Digimon World -next 0rder- will launch in 2016, for the PlayStation Vita and PSTV.

Trefle's Debut Single Will Be Digimon Adventure's "Butter-fly"

On November 18th, 2015, the all-girl band A&G Girls Project Trefle will be releasing their debut single Butter-fly/One Time featuring their cover of Digimon Adventure's opening theme, Wada Kouji's "Butter-fly." Last August the musical group did a thirty-second preview video of the cover, which was filmed in 360 degrees, allowing fans to freely rotate the camera to see different angles of their performance. The YouTube preview is geoblocked in the United States, but can be heard on Tumblr.

Butter-fly/One Time will retail for 1200 yen (approx. $10) after tax, and will include four tracks;
