Planned tournaments include a Digital Monster Card Game (also known as Hyper Colosseum) competition, a single-elimination Cyber Sleuth tournament, a dot matrix virtual pet/Digivice tournament, and an All-Star Rumble tag team tournament using the PlayStation 3 edition of the game. Digimon Tamers Battle Evolution and Digimon World: Digital Card Arena (released in western countries as Digital Card Battle) were listed on the event blurb, but no events for those games were found on the time table (translated below).

The Hyper Colosseum tournament will use ruleset Ver.M3.0, a special set of rules created by DIGIMADO that act as a combination of tournament regulations, card errata, and deck restrictions. Newer fans interested in the card game will also be able to learn the game on-site; these types of events are one of the ways that Hyper Colosseum has survived over the years despite its last actual booster set having come out almost a decade ago, and its final starter deck launching two years before that.
Digimon Pendulum 2.0: Deep Savers |
The following devices are permitted:
- Digital Monster Ver. 1~5
- Digimon Pendulum Ver. 1.0~5.5 and ZERO
- Digivice Ver. 1.0 and and 2.0
- Digivice Ver. 15th
- The Digimon DigiBat Series (an Amiibo-like toy line from 1999 that can battle the virtual pets, short for "Digi Battle")
At 6:00 PM a Digimon All-Star Rumble tournament will be held using the PlayStation 3 edition of ASR, in a two-versus-two tag match format. Tournament regulations permit the use of all 12 characters, as well as the changing of evolutions prior to the beginning of the match. However, one's Digimon of choice is fixed; hence someone that chooses Agumon must continue to play Agumon for the entire tournament, though they may switch between enabling his War Greymon or Omegamon evolutions freely. (This is a standard for Japanese fighting game tournaments; similar rules prevent changing characters in Super Smash Bros.) Stages are selected randomly, items are turned on, while Digicards are turned off.

The rules and regulations for Cyber Sleuth are to be announced on-site.
i see the digimon fandom almost dead in the japan... no wonder we got so many exclusive stuff from p-bandai... i guess gonna order omegamon our war games soon.. before its too late...
ReplyDeleteYou'd be surprised, actually. Some of the official Japanese Digimon Twitters have almost 100k followers, which is way more than you need to be a living franchise over there. Digimon Adventure tri.'s successfully revived Digimon without even being out yet; Digimon may have been dead for a good 2~3 years before, but we're pretty well standing at the beginning of its next life right now.
DeleteThe prereg numbers for this particular event don't tell the whole story either, since a lot of people just don't preregister when they see the event being significantly below its cap. DIGIMADO treated this event as a success over Twitter and has preparations in place for another one in December, so they probably made their money back in renting out the space.
i see , so they gonna make another same event... looking forward about it too... i hope they got more participant so there might be have 2 prong and 3 prong battle, so had more wide view other type of digimon vpet...
Deleteyeah i thought it almost dead.. but this incoming digimon movie seems digimon seems to start revive back....
